In my travels, I continually seek out abandoned motifs with little or no artificial light nearby. When I find the right spot, I use my light painting technique to illuminate the surroundings. I either use Quantum Trio flash units or handheld flashlights. On this photo, I used a flashlight to paint the side of the trailer with warm light. Extended exposure time is needed to execute this technique as it takes time to walk around and paint the subject with light. This location is a former mobile home dealership that was flooded during the Missouri River flood of 2019. The trailer resembles a scuttled battleship as it sits along the still flooded bottomland.

The photograph was taken with a Sony ILCE-7RM3 camera with a Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS lens at ƒ/4.0 with a 30-second exposure at ISO 400. The processing was done with Adobe Lightroom CC.
