During the recent Covid-19 lockdown, I had a lucky break and was hired by Chariton Valley to photograph several towns in Eastern and Central Missouri for one of their ad campaigns. I photographed Brookfield, Hannibal, Marceline, Monroe City, and Palmyra. It was a unique opportunity to photograph these small Midwestern towns. The downtown areas of each city had very few parked cars, which enabled me to get great photos of the buildings and shops.
Here’s one of my favorite photos I took for the campaign. It’s a shot of downtown Marceline, Missouri, during a dramatic sunrise. I used my 42-megapixel Sony Alpha a7R III Mirrorless Digital Camera coupled with a Canon TS-E24mm f/3.5L II lens to take the picture. I shot in aperture mode at ƒ/8.0 with a 1/5-second exposure at ISO 50. I processed the resulting RAW photo with Adobe Lightroom CC. I also did some luminosity masking with Raya Pro 2.0.
