I had a unique opportunity when the owner of a Cessna Citation X jet hired me for an aviation photography job in Kansas City, Missouri. The plane was located at the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport just north of metropolitan Kansas City. The owner of the jet brought along a vintage Chevrolet Corvette to complement the sleek curves of the Citation X. To create compelling negative space; we moved the Corvette in at a slight angle in relation to the fuselage. The warm light of the setting sun was gleaming against the plane’s fuselage and the Corvette creating an impressive scene. I stood on a rolling warehouse ladder to raise my angle of view. For the final photograph, I shot handheld with my trusted Canon 5D Mark III camera with the ever sharp Canon EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM lens.
The photograph was taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III camera with a Canon EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM lens at ƒ/8.0 with a 1/400-second exposure at ISO 800. The processing was done with Adobe Lightroom CC.
