I had the pleasure of doing some aviation photography for Bill Quinn of Aviation Management Systems. Bill asked me to take some photos of a beautiful Cessa Citation aircraft at the Columbia Regional Airport in Columbia, Missouri. For this photo, I had the plane facing directly West so we could see the runway and the deep blue sky. I used my dependable 30.4 megapixel full-frame Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera paired with the super-wide Canon EF11-24mm f/4L USM lens. I use this lens frequently for confined spaces because it’s the only lens wide enough to show the enclosed interior of the cockpit. I also placed two Godox AD400Pro Witstro All-In-One Outdoor Flash units mounted two 9 feet tall Savage Drop Stands on either side to the cockpit windows to illuminate the flight instruments. I shot the photo in aperture mode with a 1/60-second exposure at ISO 100. I processed the RAW photo with Adobe Lightroom CC.
