Hidden in a cornfield in rural Saline County, Missouri sits an abandoned farmhouse. What was once a grand home has collapsed, leaving a shell of its former self. I visited the location during a full moon phase for some light painting photography. I used the powerful Nitecore Tiny Monster flashlight with red and blue gels to illuminate the facade. I chose not to light up the interior due to safety concerns. A bulb exposure of 344 seconds with the dependable 30-megapixel Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera was used to take the photo. The long bulb exposure was able to capture the movement of the stars and the clouds and gave me time to walk around the house with my flashlight to paint the house with light. The resulting photo is eerie and hauntingly beautiful.
