About Notley

Notley Hawkins has lived in Missouri his whole life. Born and raised in Columbia, Missouri, he studied painting and drawing at Columbia College with Sid Larson, a protege of Thomas Hart Benton. He later attended the University of Missouri in Columbia for his Masters’s degree, where he worked with noted artist and cartoonist Frank Stack. Notley did additional studies at the prestigious Skowhegan School in Maine. He has also held residencies at the Vermont Studio Center and the Ucross Foundation. His work is in The State Historical Society of Missouri’s collection and The Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art’s collection. Notley’s fine-art photography is represented by MONK Talent.
